 lesson 1

in this lesson we learnt about verfremdungseffekt and Bertolt brecht who was a practitioner and playwright he uses different techniques under the v effect. Verfremdungseffekt, commonly referred to as the V effect or Alienation Effect, is a term Brecht used to describe the actor's technique employ in creating characters in Epic Theatre. Verfremdungseffekt is often erroneously referred to as an “alienation effect”. we talked about how we wanted the audience to question what there watching, and do exaggerated gestures in order to draw attention

lesson 2

in this lesson we learnt more about Bracht a did some exercise such a, we did an exercise were we said hi with simple gesture and we took it to biggest it could possibly be walking around the room, we learnt that actors in Bracht productions will play 3-4 characters and when you create your character you will probably be thinking of the wealth of your character, and we were talking about how you had to be able to switch character quickly and you would get changed in front of the audience into the jacket and hat etc, we also did an exercise were were had to walk around the room with partners one as the old man and one as the old women moving with different parts of our body, we also did this playing a pregnant lady leading with the belly then adding a gesture and emotion.

in this lesson we got put into groups for our political protest and i was in a group with Ed, Ernesto, Jamilah and will.

overall i think the performance went really well as in rehearsal it was looking kinda rough but on the night we pulled it of as everyone remembered there lines and if they didn't the audience didnt notices
